Exclusive - Prince Narula opens up on The 50, reacts to claims of using Elvish Yadav’s name for TRP, and addresses Rajat Dalal’s allegations about giving up the Ticket to Finale out of fear

Reality star Prince Narula, who was recently seen in 'The 50' opened up about his journey in the show. In an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, he spoke about claims of using Elvish Yadav's name for TRP and also took a sharp dig at Rajat Dalal for his allegations that Prince gave up his Ticket to Finale out of fear of losing the show. I think it all comes with experience. I’ve been doing this for many years now, and today, when we create shows, we look at them from a maker’s perspective. So when I joined this show, I felt a sense of responsibility. I was specifically brought in to make the show more engaging. In fact, I took it up because of that responsibility; otherwise, I wouldn’t have done a reality show. I even tried to avoid it at first, I actually flew to Dubai when they told me about it—but eventually, I was called back. (Photo: Instagram)

With experience, you understand how things work. I knew that if I played well with the people around me, it would be entertaining. But honestly, it didn’t feel very challenging. The game was quite simple, and even when we were playing just half of it, others struggled to grasp it. Had we played the full game, it might have been more difficult. I would say that Rajat hasn’t reached that stage in life yet where he can understand or feel what I do. I won some of the biggest reality shows of my time, and that too when social media wasn’t around. I didn’t come from controversies—I stood in lines, gave auditions, and built everything through hard work. I earned people’s votes and proved myself through performance. I feel he is creating a false narrative just to protect himself, to make himself look good and someone else look bad. I’ve guided and trained people like Shiv, Siwet, and Hamid in Roadies. As a gang leader, I see myself like a mentor or a father figure. And a father always wants his children to grow and succeed, not overshadow them. I’m in a position where I’ve taught them how to play. I would never want to compete in a way that puts them down. I have years of experience, and if I wanted, I could have finished that task in just a few minutes because it was that simple. People like Rajat rely on negativity. They are used to saying something inappropriate or controversial. Joh insaan logon ko peet ke aage aaya hai, bacchon par peesha* karke aage aaya hai, controversy ke wajah se news mein raha hai, use main kya apna comparison karunga. Some individuals with problematic pasts and serious controversies are being pushed forward, and I don’t see the point in competing with that kind of mindset. There’s no standard or level in it. I believe such people are setting the wrong example in society. It gives the impression that creating controversy is the easiest way to gain attention or get work. When the cameras were rolling 24/7, we had no idea which parts would eventually be used. When Maxtern brought up the controversy, that’s where the conversation began, and I responded casually because I didn’t think it would be included, especially since it wasn’t directly related to the show. As the discussion continued, Maxtern opened up about his struggles. He spoke about going through depression and even having suicidal thoughts. When someone shares something so personal, any human being would respond with empathy. No one provoked him, he himself said he came on the show to overcome his fears and move forward in life. You can imagine what someone goes through when they talk about such difficult experiences, especially when they’ve had responsibilities and emotional stress at home. I reassured him that he doesn’t need to be afraid and that we’re there to support him. I’m not afraid to face such situations, but I also understand that not everyone can do that, which is why support matters. Someone had to stand against him and it was me. If I hadn’t been on the show, Rajat Dalal would have caused trouble for many people with his fake aggression, you can’t even imagine it. Someone needed to stop him, and that’s what I did. Not at all. The kind of issues people believe exist between Elvish Yadav and me are not as big as they’re made out to be. There isn’t that level of tension between us. We haven’t really met properly, but it’s not like we avoid each other or walk away from the same place. We’re both part of the same industry, and sooner or later, we will cross paths again, maybe even on a show like Roadies. Disagreements happen, it’s normal.
