Exclusive - Samridhii Shukla spills the beans on the upcoming Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai track; Two major drama tracks in this Gangaur sequence
Samridhii Shukla, who plays the role of Abhira in Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which is produced under his banner Director's Kut Production, is excited to shoot for the upcoming sequence in the show where they will be celebrating the festival of Gangaur. She also mentioned that the sequence will be high not only on glamour but also on drama.
She said, "I am shooting the Gangaur sequence on the sets in the city. Because we are shooting Gangaur, and this has been a tradition that has been followed authentically in Rajasthani culture for the past seventeen years in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, we really work a lot on the textures and the fabrication of the costumes of Rajasthan. We are deeply rooted in it."
As an artist, she feels blessed to get the knowledge about a festival like Gangaur. She said, "Shooting here has been a very peaceful experience. It shows the love between Maa Parvati and Shiv ji—how we make idols from scratch, then come to the ghat, and it is all shot beautifully as we immerse the idols."
Samridhii revealed that from the costumes to the storyline to even the smallest details of the festival, everything is taken care of. "We try to bring back the importance of Gangaur. We are shooting outdoor sequences, and it is quite difficult to shoot in the summer heat. We come early, but it shows our determination towards the show," she said.
"We are really grateful to shoot outdoors because it looks very beautiful, and it cannot be complete without Ghoomar, so we will be doing all of that. The ladies will start the dance sequence, and the men will also join in," she added.
She mentioned that the Gangaur sequence looks very vibrant and is full of drama. "And I’ll give you a little secret—there are two major drama tracks in this Gangaur sequence, both around Armaan and Abhira, and something involving Bua Ji as well. So it’s really something to look forward to," she said.
"We have been showcasing the Gangaur sequence for seventeen years across more than five thousand episodes, and it has been shot really beautifully this year as well," Samridhii ended.
