Karishma Chavan, who has been a choreographer in many dance reality shows like
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa
and Nach Baliye, was seen in Dance Plus 5 as a Captain.
The film choreographer, in an exclusive chat with ETimes TV spoke about how TV artistes are taking up dance to enhance their skills and be an all-rounder. She shared, “I love the fact that TV actors are getting more conscious about getting into dance because obviously their demand is to dance at events or awards nights. Even the serials have introduced choreography with wedding scenes. Even there, their demand as a
performer
and actor has been pushed. And I am glad that the actors are taking interest to do that. They are making that extra effort to be an all-rounder artiste. That’s commendable.”
She also named a few artists, who she loves to see them perform, “Sanjeeda Shaikh is a very good dancer. I had worked with her in
Zara Nachke Dikha
. She is a person, who has absorbed choreography and moments of choreography. I love watching her. I also love to watch
Mouni Roy. She is coming of her own at this moment of time. She is doing really well for herself. I love to watch these artistes on television.”
And among the choreographers, she mentions, “I love watching Dharmesh Sir, I have been a fan throughout. He is a great performer and a very good friend. Even Raghav (Juyal) is mesmerising as a performer.”
Karishma has been in the dance industry for over 14 years now and have also choreographed many Bollywood celebs.
