Exclusive - Sargam Ki Sadhe Satii actor Akash Makhija ties the knot with childhood sweetheart Roshni; says 'The ceremony was rooted in simplicity and spirituality'
Akash Makhija, popular for his roles in TV shows like Sargam Ki Sadhe Satii and Har Mard Ka Dard, has married his childhood sweetheart Roshni Budhiraja. The couple tied the knot on April 25 in Delhi, after getting engaged on May 9, 2025.
Speaking about his wedding, Akash shared, “Roshni and I got married on April 25, 2026, in Delhi during a mass wedding organised by the Sant Nirankari Mission. We feel truly fortunate to have taken our vows in the gracious presence of our Satguru, Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, along with Nirankari Rajpita Ramit Ji.”
He continued, "The ceremony was rooted in simplicity and spirituality, highlighted by the recitation of Laavan—sacred hymns that emphasise harmony, unity, and mutual respect in married life. A unique aspect of the ceremony was the use of a simple garland symbolizing togetherness, shifting the focus away from extravagant wedding customs and toward the essence of a spiritual union. The occasion concluded with a shower of flowers and divine blessings from the Satguru. It reinforced values of equality, love, and a life guided by Satsang (spiritual congregation) and Sewa (selfless service).”
Talking ahead about his bond with wife Roshni. He shared, "Roshni and I have shared a bond since childhood, and we have both been associated with the Sant Nirankari Mission since birth. Our journey together has been deeply spiritual and fulfilling. We were also fortunate to exchange our engagement rings last year in the presence of our Satguru, making this union even more meaningful.”
Introducing his wife he mentioned, "Professionally, Roshni is a fashion designer and runs her own label, “Nur.” I recently took a month-long break from work to embrace this new phase of life. Now, I look forward to my upcoming projects, including Gram Chikitsalay Season 2 and Raakh."
"As we begin this new chapter together, we feel immense gratitude for the love we share and the unwavering support of our families. This union is not just a personal milestone, but a spiritual journey that we are blessed to embark on together," he concluded.
Akash also acted in Gram Chikitsalay and Nirmal Pathak Ki Ghar Wapsi.
