Exclusive! Shrenu Parikh and Akshay Mhatre to tie the knot in December; the couple says, 'We are looking forward to our winter wedding'

We have exclusively learnt that actor-couple Shrenu Parikh and Akshay Mhatre will tie the knot in the last week of December. Shrenu and Akshay met on the set of the TV show Ghar Ek Mandir (2021) and have been in a relationship for the past two years. The two had a roka ceremony in March at Akshay’s home in Mumbai.

When we reached out to the couple, they confirmed the news. Shrenu said, “Yes, it will be a winter wedding. I am excited to become a Gujarati bride and the wedding will take place in Vadodara, my hometown.”

Talking about their relationship, she shared, “Akshay never formally proposed to me. But one day, he said he could not wait to get married to me and I knew that we were heading towards something substantial.”

Akshay added, “I don’t like cheesy proposals, so we never had anything formal. But ever since we started dating, we both knew that we were headed towards marriage. After we spoke to our families, the dates were fixed. It will be a wedding complete with all rituals. We will have a function in Mumbai, too.”

Akshay says he is shy, while Shrenu is just the opposite, but they are perfect for each other. "I am an introvert while Shrenu is full of energy. In many ways, she completes me. I feel we strike a good balance and that’s the best part of our relationship. I look forward to spending my life with her," he said.

Speaking about their bond, Shrenu shared, "There is a certain calmness that Akshay brings to my stormy soul. Our friendship is the base of our relationship. Our likes and dislikes, goals are the same. When we got together, we knew that we were meant to be together." She further added, "Every girl dreams about marriage and I am blessed to have another family now. They encourage me to chase my dreams and follow my heart. I love his family a lot. I always wanted a partner like him love the way he takes care of me. I feel blessed and look forward to our wedding in December.”
