Rochelle Rao celebrates her birthday today (November 25). The actress, who has flown down to her hometown in Chennai, seems to be having quite a few plans for her special day. Rochelle spoke about her
birthday plans
for the day, how husband Keith is making it special for her today, some memories of her best birthday celebration till date and her birthday wish this year.
What are your plans for the day?I am spending my birthday in Chennai with my family. We had a lovely
family
dinner last night to bring in my birthday. Tonight we are getting together with a couple of close friends whom we haven't been able to meet due to the
pandemic
, which I am really looking forward to. I also do believe that Keith has some sort of a beach getaway planned as well on the outskirts of Chennai, maybe to Mahabalipuram or Pondicherry. I am being kept in the dark about this plan which I am sure is a surprise from Keith's end.
How excited are you to be celebrating your birthday in Chennai?It is definitely going to be a memorable first proper birthday celebration post the pandemic, as we are getting to catch up with a big group of friends together. I don't get to meet my Chennai friends that often as I am in Mumbai most of the time, and with the pandemic it's been 2 years since I have seen some of them. I am really excited for everybody to meet together as a group which we are all going to make the most of.
Are you expecting any surprises from Keith?Apart from the beach getaway that Keith is supposedly planning for me as a surprise, he has put in a lot of effort into making sure I get to see everyone that I love on my birthday. He has really gone out of his way to ensure that everyone I am close to is in town whilst I am here for my birthday. He has even got some of my friends to fly down from Mumbai to Chennai to celebrate the day with me, so the fact that he has gone out of his way to ensure my birthday celebrations be special, is the most special gesture for me.
Which has been your best birthday till date?A couple of years ago Keith knew that I was wanting to go to Vegas, so he worked out the entire trip. We were in Vegas for my birthday and it was a complete surprise for me. It was one of the most extravagant celebrations we had for my birthday. I probably remember that as the most expensive experience. Besides that Keith has gifted me many things over the years, from jewelry, bags, phones etc, but eventually the experiences are what you remember the most. Being there back then in Vegas on my birthday, walking the streets, shopping, visiting the casinos, watching some fantastic shows was all a wonderful experience he had planned out for me.
What is your birthday wish for this year?My birthday wish this year would be to hopefully stay in this state of normalcy that we are all in at the moment. I just pray that in India we will be saved from anymore lockdowns, because I think that everyone is just too happy and excited to go back to normal life. Everyone has changed a lot during the pandemic and has a new lease on life. I think nobody wants to miss out on living these new dreams and aspirations full of passion. Everyone I am sure has these new goals that they want to achieve, so I just don't want to see this momentum crash again for any reason. Hence, my wish will be that the health and happiness we have right now stays and we say goodbye to corona for good.
