Exclusive! We are pregnant: Viraf Patell

Actor-couple Salonie and Viraf Patell are all set to become parents in a couple of months. An excited Viraf told us, “I feel like I should get an award for starting a family (laughs). A Parsi baby is being added to the community at a time when we need more babies." Viraf and Salonie got married three years ago.

The couple recently went on a babymoon to London. He shared, “An acting project took me to London in May. Salonie joined me there. One of her friends, who is also pregnant, also joined us later. So, it was good fun, two pregnant couples jumping in and out of the tube, walking around the lovely parks of London and driving by the countryside. At the end of the shoot, I thanked Hansal Mehta sir for casting me in a good project and unknowingly helping me have the loveliest babymoon."

Talking about their conversations about the baby, he said, “Salonie wants a boy, and I want a girl. But honestly, we both just want our baby to be healthy. We both are looking forward to the surprise and are gearing up for daddy-mommy duties. Salonie is going to be a fierce mother who will ensure I don't mess up my daddy duties!"

The couple recently celebrated the Parsi New Year. “I made sure Salonie ate a lot of sweets. We had a quiet meal, and she made me explain to the baby (in her belly) about the Parsi New Year," said Viraf, who has acted in films like Pathaan and Kutch Express and was also recently seen in Maharaj.

When we spoke to Salonie, she said, "Viraf has wanted this for a long time, and I can already see the joy fatherhood will bring him. I will not take a break from work after the baby is born because I have a good support system. Viraf is a great help at home and also helps me de-stress.”
