From Dipika Kakar to Rubina Dilaik: TV celebs who slammed trolls for their harsh comments

Although times have changed, celebrities are frequently subjected to harsh and unpleasant comments in the realm of social media. The criticisms vary from their behaviour to their appearance. There were some actors who chose to reply to the trolls and not take it quietly. Here are some other actors who slammed the trolls for their harsh comments:

2/9

Dipika Kakar

Dipika, who gave birth to a baby boy in June this year, had slammed the trolls in one of her vlogs when the actress was pregnant. She had slammed the trolls for calling her pregnancy bump fake. She had said: “How much negativity will you spread? Be it pregnancy, or celebrations or profession, or a relationship between husband and wife, you have to spread negativity. And, then you go ahead and blame us for being fake? We are nautanki baaz? Mai to hun hi nautanki baaz, certified hoon. Thik hai, hoon ab kya? Grow up guys, ap jis tarah comment krte ho meri pregnancy ko lekar. Aap ye comment kr rahe ho ki mai fake kar rahi hoon bump ko. You question my bump? Am I faking it? Aap ek pregnant aurat ko bol rahe ho ye vo sahi hai.”

Debina Bonnerjee

Debina had slammed the trolls who body-shamed her post-pregnancy days. She spoke about buying one of her favourite dresses from her travel to Gir and added, “This dress for today has a tale, I had got this before the lockdown when we went to Gir. After that, this was my favourite dress but I couldn't fit it. Thanks to all your comments that you all kept writing, 'You are fat', 'these clothes don't suit you' and all. Do you think you all were discouraging me? No! I found a silver lining in it. I knew the reason behind my weight gain, it wasn't because I was lazing around. I had reasons to put on weight. Definitely, you all were rude and still are rude but I am loving it. I am working on myself and my diet is on and so is my workout. I have lost weight as you can see how this outfit has fit me well.” The actress is now following a strict fitness regime and is accompanied by her actor-husband.

Vahbiz Dorabjee

Vahbiz, who was seen in Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahani, had uploaded a video on her social media where the actress wore a Barbie themed dress. However, she got trolled massively and recently she slammed the trolls for it. She said, “I'm so disgusted to see some of the harsh comments on my barbie video. Some people are writing not Barbie..shes a bhens.. pehli baar dehki aisi Barbie.. And many more. its so shameful that today also girls are expected to Keep up with unattainable standards just to I please society. But times are changing and I refuse to follow stereotypes. When I stand up,I'm standing up for a lot of other women out there. Instead of judging us..reflect on your own shallow character and focus on being a better human being. High time society changes their perception and gets over toxic beauty standards.”

5/9

Aashika Bhatia

Aashika Bhatia, a former child actor who has worked in films too, had gained a lot of weight a few years ago. The actress then followed a strict fitness regime and lost all the fat. She was body shamed and fat-shamed for her looks as she is quite a popular face on social media. Later she posted a video of her transformation to silence haters. While she has never been upset by such comments and has advocated for body positivity, Aashika said she was called names when she was not in the best of shape. She called out trolls who dubbed her 'moti,' 'bhains,' 'Fatso,' and other derogatory terms, and demonstrated her turnaround.

6/9

Rubina Dilaik

Many people had gained weight after recuperating from Covid, and Rubina Dilaik had spoken out about her own issue. She mentioned receiving hate mail and insults for her weight gain. She gained roughly 7 kg while healing from Covid. In one of her posts, she had stated that she is being gentle with herself and her body, allowing it to heal at its own pace. She addressed with a long note to each of them and referred to those who commented as 'pseudo' fans.

7/9

Himanshi Khurana

Himanshi Khurana, a Bigg Boss 13 participant and Punjabi actress, has frequently been fat-shamed and criticized for her weight. However, few people are aware that she has 'Polycystic Ovary Syndrome' (PCOs). Himanshi told ETimes TV in an interview, “I have been trolled a lot on social media. Before and after Bigg Boss 13. I have been body shamed a lot. I have PCOS, whoever doesn't understand it, please go and surf on the internet. Most of the girls go through it. People who know about it will relate with me. During PCOS, your body weight keeps fluctuating. Sometimes you lose so much weight and sometimes you gain a lot of weight. My blood pressure also fluctuates a lot. My BP levels sometimes drop so much that I have to take oxygen for three hours. My manager panics when I don't respond or get up.”

8/9

Niti Taylor

Niti Taylor, who was seen in Bade Achche Lagte Hain 2, also responded to online haters who were harassing her family. In her post, she called out the trolls and wrote, “So recently, again someone has woken up from the past and I am getting trolled & hate comments! Was ignoring it, but my dad and mom are being tagged! You comment about me but for God's sake leave my dad and mom out of it! It’s very cheap for you to keep tagging them! You have a problem with me, you hate me, KEEP it to me don’t involve my family! Social media has made too many of you comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the mouth for it. Always remember there’s a God who’s watching everything you do! So be good for goodness sake!”

9/9

Tina Dutta

Tina Dutta, who is back on screen with Hum Rahein Na Rahein Hum, had recently given it back to the trolls who called her fake and tried to pretend with her mom and father. She wrote, “Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna,' Tina writes. She asks trolls to keep doing whatever they want to because it reflects who they are not who she is. She says the way she has handled the trolling only shows her dignity. I won’t change because a little bit of negativity can not overpower my zeal and positivity!”
