From MasterChef India judges getting called out for 'biased reaction' to Shark Tank India 2 getting compared to a daily soap; Times, when these reality shows got heavily trolled

Reality shows have been an integral part of the viewer's watch list. From dance, and music to cooking, there are reality shows made in every facet. While some seasons turn out to be a major hit some end up becoming fodder for trolls. Take a look at the list of reality shows which got brutally trolled by viewers for various reasons.

Masterchef India's 7th season has been in news for all the wrong reasons this time. The reality show's judges have been called out for being biased towards home chef Aruna. Recently netizens slammed the judges and chefs Ranveer Brar and Garima Arora for being biased toward some specific contestants. They even mentioned how the judges preferred Kamaldeep's meal over Nayanjyoti's in spite of knowing how well he matched the flavours and presented it. Fans were seen tweeting about the judges being impressed with contestant Aruna’s plating. One of the fans wrote “This is Aruna's finale week plating of her supposedly innovative ugadi pachchadi in papdi chaat concept dish. Ranveer Brar and co should be embarrassed by getting this woman this far.”

Bigg Boss is one of the most famous reality shows on television because of the extreme drama that happens between the contestants. The show is often trolled by viewers. In the recent season 16, the makers were trolled for bringing Sajid Khan into the show because the director was accused in the #Metoo moment. The fans of the show asked the makers to remove Sajid Khan from the show as he does not deserve to be in the show, while some supported that he must be given another chance.

After Bigg Boss 13, Shehnaaz Gill and Paras Chhabra collaborated on a show where they were to choose their partners through the show. The actors were trolled for doing the show and even Shehnaaz and Paras regretted doing the show. Shehnaaz shared that it was the biggest mistake of her life. Shehnaaz shared “Yes, I feel doing Mujhse Shaadi Karoge was a big mistake. I took a wrong decision and shouldn’t have done the show, but when I was signing the contract I did not think much and there were so many things happening in my life at that time. Also, I was very new to these concepts so I did not get into too many details. Later, I realised I was not happy in the show and couldn’t connect with any of the boys.” Later even, Paras spoke about it with ETimes TV and shared that he did not like working with Shehnaaz in the show and got irritated after a while.

Singer Mika Singh decided to get married on national television where 14 female contestants were seen participating in the show. His close friend and actress Akanksha Puri entered towards the end of the show as a wild card contestant but she eventually went on to win the show. Netizens felt that the show's winner was fixed and also felt that the other two contestants were more deserving. Not only that, netizens even called them a fake couple and how the show was scripted. Mika however, didnt tie the knot on national television and now the two have also called it quits.

Rohit Shetty’s action-packed show Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 also faced some trolling when actor Arjun Bijlani was called a biased winner by the audience. Arjun had even spoken about it with ETimes TV: “I won’t say I totally ignore and I don’t get affected by these negative comments. I sometimes feel bad because if the makers want to be biased they would show me winning by a few minutes and not seconds, to make it look more authentic, but they would never do it. I think people should have a little common sense before writing such things. Why will the makers put in so much money to be biased in the end? I have done so many shows on the channel and Naagin was the biggest hit when I was doing Jhalak but I did not win the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. I have done a reality show on the same channel but I didn’t win it. This argument is baseless. Just imagine if someone says that just because she was the face of the channel, it takes away all her hard work. It’s not fair. Khatron Ke Khiladi is a stunt-based show and not a voting-based show that I won by receiving audiences' votes.”

Roadies judge Neha Dhupia faced backlash on social media for schooling a male contestant after he said that he had slapped his girlfriend for alleged infidelity. The show and particularly judge Neha was trolled and later she issued a statement where she said she "stands by" her move. In her statement, Neha had then said said that she was "misrepresented" and that it is rather "unfortunate". "My daughter's page is nothing less than a barrage of abuses and this is not acceptable to me," she wrote.

Shrk Tank India 2 which ended recently was trolled continuously during the entire season as they were called to be dramatic like any other daily soap and losing its true essence. Namita Thapar and Aman Gupta were trolled for not investing in a cosmetic brand just because their friend Vineeta Singh owns a cosmetic brand and they wanted to stay loyal to her. Not only that the show was also slammed for being over dramatic and netizens also missed Asneer Grover who was there as a judge in the first season of the show. The show was even being compared to Indian Idol for its melodrama. One of the fans even wrote, “Mom switched to Shark Tank from Anupama because it has got more drama.” Even Anupam Mittal was trolled by the fans of the show for trying to act like Shark Ashneer Grover on the show.

Indian Idol has been trolled by the audience for various reasons, sometimes they call out the judges for unnecessarily showing the melodrama in the show. The fans have even slammed the makers by calling it a scripted show. Even the judges are often trolled for their behaviour in the show. Netizens have slammed judge Neha Kakkar several times for being over emotional and crying all the time on the TV show. Neha had even mentioned about this to BT and said “I can’t blame them, there are many people who are not emotional at all! For people who are not emotional, I would seem fake. But people who are sensitive, like me, will understand and relate to me. Today, we don’t see too many people who can feel others’ pain and who want to help them. I have that quality in me and I have no regrets about it.”
