Gulki Joshi shares a full-circle moment with Iqbal Khan in upcoming show Yaadein; says 'There’s a certain nostalgia attached to it as I grew up hearing about that era of television at home'

Gulki Show On Yaadein, Comeback After Maddam Sir, Dr. Shrishti's Role & Not Open To Bold Scenes
Upcoming show Yaadein is the adaptation of a popular Italian drama DOC, that explores memory, identity and second chances through an emotionally compelling lens. The story revolves around the life of celebrated Dr. Dev (Iqbal Khan) . His life takes an unexpected turn after he meets with an accident which leaves him with memory loss. As he returns to a world that has moved ahead without him, Dr Dev must navigate unfamiliar relationships, professional expectations and the unsettling reality of a past he no longer remembers, while slowly rediscovering what it truly means to heal, both as a doctor and as a human being. The show also features Gulki Joshi, who essays the role of Dr. Dev’s ex-wife Srishti. Her presence adds emotional angle to the storyline. For Gulki Joshi, sharing screen space with Iqbal Khan carries a deeply personal layer beyond the script. Long before she became an actor, his name was already familiar in her home. Her mother was one of the writers on his very first show, and she grew up hearing stories from that phase of television. At school, she remembers how her friends were completely driven by him, discussing episodes and swooning over his character, while she quietly observed the phenomenon from close quarters.
Today, years later, standing opposite him as a co-actor feels less like coincidence and more like a full-circle moment. Rather than seeing it as just another project, Gulki looks at it as a beautiful reminder of how life connects things in unexpected ways, turning old memories into moments she is now living for real.

Speaking about the experience, Gulki Joshi shared, “Sometimes the industry feels vast, and sometimes it feels incredibly small. For me, working with Iqbal has been one of those rare full-circle moments. There’s a certain nostalgia attached to it because I grew up hearing about that era of television at home. To now be standing across from him as a co-actor feels quietly surreal. What I value most is the comfort he brings to a scene. He stays very focused and follows his instincts, which makes emotional scenes easy and natural to perform. There’s mutual respect in the way we approach our work, and that naturally reflects on screen. It’s one of those experiences that reminds you how unpredictably life aligns things at the right time.”
