’s world turned upside down when her husband, actor

, was admitted to the ICU after his health deteriorated due to COVID-19 complications in May 2021. Back then, Dipti had vowed to offer her hair to Tirupati Balaji. And now, exactly a year later, she has fulfilled the vow. Dipti tells us, “I felt helpless when Soorajji was in the ICU and the doctors told us that 60 per cent of his lungs were infected. I prayed to every God possible and visited temples. That’s when I also vowed to donate my hair to Tirupati Balaji. He recovered and is healthy now. So, I decided to fulfill the vow.”
Her decision has surprised many because she was working towards returning to acting after a gap of nine years. Sooraj says, “Most of us have been through a difficult patch, both personally and financially because of the pandemic. So, it was a practical decision to return to work. Earlier, Dipti couldn’t return to acting because our younger son was very small. But after our children grew big enough to be able to take care of themselves, she made up her mind to get back to work. In fact, she had started getting offers. But she put work on hold and went ahead with her decision to shave her head, as she believes that
jaan hai toh jahaan hai. I am full of gratitude for her.
Koi bhi apna career restart
karna chaahta hai toh sabse pehle khud ke looks
par kaam karta hai, khud ko theek karta hai. Dipti might not get offers at least not immediately.
Agar milega bhi toh uss tarah ka hi milega jo iss chehre ko suit
kare ya phir wig
laga kar karna padega. I am so fortunate to have her as my wife. She is looking very beautiful and prettier than before (smiles). I hope someone casts her in her current look.”
There was a farewell party, too. Dipti shares, “My hair is thick, long and lustrous. I always get complimented for it. When my friends got to know about my vow, they hosted a farewell party for my hair.”
