I love Karwa Chauth because it is an opportunity for women to get together and enjoy a festival: Deepika Singh
Diya Aur Baati Hum actress Deepika Singh is excited about her Karwa Chauth fast today. The actress had posted videos of applying mehendi and dancing with her friends yesterday. Deepika, who was last seen in Kavach, says, "I am keeping a fast for my husband Rohit (Raj Goyal). He is also fasting today, but he will be working the entire day and has a tight schedule, so I have been telling him not to do it."
Talking about her day, she says, "I love dancing. Everyone knows I am a classical dancer. And during Karwa Chauth applying mehendi and dancing with friends gives me a lot of joy."
The actress is going to dress up in a traditional sari. She shares, "I am planning to wear a sari in the evening when we will do the puja. In my family, all the women get together wearing traditional saris and jewellery. In the morning, we eat sargi together and in the noon we perform puja and recite katha. In the evening, we wait to spot the moon and then break our fasts. These customs and traditions are significant to our culture. I also love Karwa Chauth because it gives me an opportunity to meet my family members and enjoy myself. It is also an opportunity for women to get together and enjoy the festival."
A few months ago, the actress along with her husband had trekked all the way to Vaishnodevi temple. She had said in an interview then, "Rohit and I visited the shrine and spent some time there. We felt a lot of peace. We love trekking and it becomes even more interesting when it is combined with faith."
