#Mother'sDay: I want my daughter to live life on her own terms: Shubhangi Atre
Shubhangi Atre feels that the bond between a mother and her daughter is “a dynamic one”. The Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! actress, whose 18-year-old daughter Ashi is studying Astrophysics in the US, shares “a friendly bond” with her. Shubhangi tells us, “I was only 22 when I gave birth to Ashi. When I look at her now, I feel she grew up too fast. Due to my hectic shooting schedules, I could not enjoy her childhood like other moms.” She adds, “But I am happy because she is the best gift that God has given me. She is my biggest supporter, critic, travel buddy and what not! In fact, she is my stylist and designer too, and guides me about what to wear and how to carry accessories.”
While Shubhangi misses her daughter a lot, she says, “Although she is in the US and living far away from me, I am amazed to see that she is managing things there all by herself. She has become independent and responsible.” Asked about her expectations from her daughter, she is quick to add, “I have always lived my life on my own terms. Similarly, I want my baby to live life on her own terms. I never want to impose my choices on her. I just want her to fulfil her dreams. I only advise her to do whatever she wants with full dedication.” She adds, “I believe in what Sadhguru says, ‘Never treat your children like your property.’ So, while I want to guide her, ultimately she should make her own decisions.”
