Abrar Qazi, who is currently seen in Kumkum Bhagya, will soon exit the TV show, which is set for a generation leap. He says, “I was hoping the show would take a leap after IPL, but it is happening now.”

Abrar, who made his acting debut with the film Laila Majnu, has been busy with television shows for the past five years. He shares, “Laila Majnu did not help my career then, but after it was re-released last year, people appreciated my work. I have been getting good film offers since the past one year, but whenever you audition for films or web projects, it becomes a matter of patience. One has to wait till they get shortlisted. And even after you wait for months to get finalised, sometimes things don’t work out. In the meanwhile, you lose out on good projects on other mediums.”

He admits that he is happy working in different mediums. “TV is a mass medium and it is lucrative. The content might need improvement, but I want to continue doing TV shows along with web shows and films.”

While Abrar is happy with his stint on TV, he feels strongly about the casting process and the ratings process. “A lot of actors are losing out on good roles to influencers and YouTubers which is terrible because talent is important at the end of the day. Also, the rating system needs to change because now, a lot of people watch TV shows on apps.”
BOX‘Where is the time to meet someone?’
On the personal front, Abrar says he is single. “In the past few years, I have been constantly working, so where is the time to meet someone? I don’t want to fall in love with someone on the set because it gets difficult to work together if things don’t go well,” he says.
