Jagadhatri actress Sayantani Ghosh looks back at 2025: It taught me patience, gratitude and balance
Sayantani Ghosh, who is currently seen as Maya in Jagadhatri shares that the year 2025 was not a smooth year for her. However, it was a meaningful one. The actress reveals it came with personal challenges, emotional moments, and steady professional growth.
On the personal front, the year tested her strength. In August, Sayantani’s mother met with an accident involving her leg and had to undergo surgery. Soon after, in September, Sayantani herself suffered a fall that resulted in a foot fracture, forcing her to be on bed rest for over a month. “It was a difficult phase. Health issues took over everything else, and even happy moments felt muted,” she shares.
Despite the setbacks, 2025 also brought happiness into her life. Sayantani welcomed her nephew during the year, which became a bright and emotional moment for the family. “That joy balanced out the tough times in many ways. So yes, personally, the year had both highs and lows,” she says.
Professionally, the actor is ending the year on a positive note with Jagadhatri. Being part of the show has brought her a sense of stability and creative satisfaction. “I’m entering the new year with a good show and a strong team, and that itself feels reassuring,” she says.
Talking about her role as Maya, Sayantani explains that the character allowed her to explore comfort and depth rather than pressure. “After many years of acting, you understand how to connect with a character. There comes a stage when the actor and the role start to blend naturally,” she explains, adding that she found her rhythm with Maya over time.Joining Jagadhatri also feels special on a personal level. Sayantani describes it as a homecoming, especially since one of the biggest shows of her career, Naaginn – Waadon Ki Agniparikshaa was with the same network . Also “Producer Rahul Kumar Tewary is a close friend, and working with familiar people brings comfort and ease “she says. For Sayantani, every role adds to her journey as an artist. “There’s always something to learn. Each character shapes you not just professionally, but personally too,” she shares.
Reflecting on the biggest lesson of 2025, Sayantani admits that the year taught her to slow down mentally. “We all plan too much and overthink. But life doesn’t always go the way we expect. This year reminded me to stay present and trust the process,” she says.
Health remains her biggest takeaway. “When you go through something like this, you realise how important good health is. By God’s grace, my family and I are fine, and that’s what truly matters,” she adds.
Looking ahead to 2026, Sayantani has simple goals. She wants to focus more on her fitness, mental peace, and overall well-being. “I want to take life a little more calmly and take care of myself better,” she signs off.
