After Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor’s sad demise, nation lost another gem yesterday (April 30). Former India football captain Chuni Goswami, who led India to the 1962 Asian Games gold, passed away in Kolkata after a prolonged illness.

"He [Goswami] suffered a cardiac arrest and breathed his last in the hospital at around 5 pm," a family source said on Thursday evening.

Chuni Goswami was the poster boy of Indian football, a cricketer par excellence who once took Bengal to the Ranji Trophy final in the 1971-72 season and helped India demolish the mighty West Indies in a tour match.

Sport enthusiasts, cinema lovers and people across the nation are mourning over the demise of these legends.

Apart from sports veteran Chuni Goswami, we lost two great souls – Irrfan Khan on April 29 and Rishi Kapoor on April 30.
