Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Amitabh Bachchan reacts in shock after learning about Odisha’s 'Red Weaver Ant Chutney', jokingly asks, "Khane ke baad kaat le andar toh?"
The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 started with 23-year-old Mitrabha Guha from Kolkata, West Bengal, who holds the title of India's 72nd Chess Grandmaster. The show aired a short video highlighting Mitrabha's journey, in which his parents recalled how a relative gifted him a large wooden chess set on his first birthday—an event that turned out to be a pivotal moment in his life.
Mitrabha started competing in championships in 2004 and soon set multiple records. However, financial constraints delayed his first international tour until 2018. He revealed that when he traveled to Spain for a championship, his mother took a gold loan to fund his trip. Mitrabha credits his success to his parents' unwavering support.
Host Amitabh Bachchan kicked off the game with Mitrabha, asking the first question for ₹1,000: "On which of these devices can you usually not type?" Mitrabha correctly selected Option B) Speakers.
While chatting with Mr. Bachchan, Mitrabha shared his experience of playing against the reigning World Chess Champion, Gukesh Dommaraju. He recalled defeating Gukesh during a chess championship in Kolkata when they were younger. During the lockdown, he also played multiple online chess matches with Gukesh.
After answering next few questions correctly, Mitrabha uses 'Dugnastraa' for Rs 1,60,000 mark. Which Indian player emerged victorious in the girls' section of the FIDE World Junior Chess Championship 2024? Mitrabha swiftly answers the question Option B) Divya Deshmukh. He wins the bonus amount.
