Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Contestant Shravani Jena asks Amitabh Bachchan for a gold discount ahead of her November wedding; here's how the host reacted
The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 features Rashmi Kumari from Ranchi, Jharkhand. Rashmi, who works as a Senior Bank Manager, had won ₹10,000 by the end of the episode. Rashmi shared that hearing her name from Big B will be the most cherished moment of her life because she has been trying to be on the show for the last 24 years. Mr Bachchan presents 'Super Sawaal' for Rashami. As of August 2024, who is the chief minister of Uttarakhand? Rashami answers Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami and it is the correct one. She wins the super power 'Dugnastraa'.
During her conversation with host Amitabh Bachchan, Rashami Kumari opens up about her family, revealing that she is a mother of two—a boy and a girl. She shares that her 16-year-old daughter is a special child, with the mental capacity of a 3-4-year-old. Rashami becomes emotional while speaking about her daughter, explaining that her daughter has poor vision, reduced hearing, and one of her eyes is almost entirely damaged. She is 70% mentally challenged. Rashami expresses, "I do my best to teach her to manage on her own, so she doesn’t have to rely on anyone. She attends a special school, and I keep track of her daily activities through CCTV cameras. KBC gives me hope to improve her life, and whatever money I win here will be used to secure her future."
The audience becomes emotional upon hearing Rashami's heartfelt story. She shares that appearing on KBC is an opportunity to explore ways to enhance her daughter's abilities. Moved by her situation, Amitabh Bachchan makes a request to viewers, asking anyone who might know of a cure or have assistance for Rashami's daughter to reach out to the channel.
Rashami answers the next few questions correctly and faces the question for Rs 80,000. Who among the following, when asked by Bhagwan Valmiki to name a perfect man, answered "Lord Ram'? She takes 'Audience Poll' lifeline and goes with Option A) Rishi Narad
Big B next reads the question for Rs 1,60,000. Which of these is an endangered felt wool craft from Kashmir. She uses the chance of winning 'Dugnastraa' but fails to use it as she uses her lifeline. She uses Video Call A Friend but doesn't get any answer. She uses another lifeline 'Double Dip' and she first selects Option C) Sanjhi but it is an incorrect answer, she then goes with Option D) Namda and it is the right answer.
Next, Rashami faces the question for Rs 3,20,000. Which of the following athletes is not the first woman Olympic medalist for India in her respective sport? The contestant selects Option A) Mirabai Chanu and wins Rs 3,20,000
Rashami gears to play Super Sandook and manages to answer five questions correctly and wins Rs 50,000. She decides to revive her lifeline 'Audience Poll'.
For the question for Rs 6,40,000, Rashami once again uses her lifeline 'Audience Poll'. Which river is known as Langqen Zangbo in China? She goes with the maximum voted Option B) Chenab and it is the incorrect answer. The correct answer is Option B) Sutlej. Rashami's journey comes to an end on the show and she takes home Rs 3,20,000.
After her exit, host Amitabh Bachchan conducted the Fastest Finger First round, where Shravani Jena from Odisha claimed the hot seat. Shravani serves as a Block Social Security Officer with the Odisha Government, concentrating on the welfare of minorities and individuals with disabilities.
Host Amitabh Bachchan resumes the game and poses the first question for ₹1,000: "Which of these would you not find in the cosmetics section of a supermarket?" Shravani chooses Option C) Noodles. She shares that she had been striving to secure a government job for six years, and her father worked hard to help her become independent. Now, she lives far from her parents and manages her life on her own.
She encounters the 'Super Sawal,' which asks, "In which city was Swami Vivekananda born?" She confidently answers Kolkata and wins the superpower 'Dugnastraa.'
As a gesture of appreciation, Big B presents Shravani with a gold coin. Overjoyed, she reveals that she really needed it since she’s getting married on November 29. She says, "Sir aapse sone ka sikka milna bahut shubh hai mere liye aur sir jis hisaab se sone ke rates badh rahe hain, (laughs) aap thoda sa sponsors ko bole ke mujhe discount dilaa dijiye, abhi tak shopping nahi ki hai maine (Sir, receiving a gold coin from you is incredibly auspicious for me, and given the rising gold prices (laughs), could you please ask the sponsors to help me get a discount? I haven’t done my wedding shopping yet)."
Mr. Bachchan, clearly taken aback, turns to Shravani and asks, "How would I know what you want to buy?" His playful response sends the audience into fits of laughter, adding to the lighthearted atmosphere. He continues, He says, "Accha online haan, kya hai ke jab tak woh haanth gold leke tatola na jaaye... dikhe na woh pata nahi chalta ke kya kharida jaaye.."
