Kaun Banega Crorepati 17: Amitabh Bachchan jokes about Pakistani fans smashing TVs after losing to India in a cricket match
The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 started with rollover contestant Asha Dhiryan, who took home Rs 5,00,000. After Asha made an exit, Urmila Jevliya from Amreli, Gujarat took the hot seat to play the game. Urmila works as a teacher at a Government school. Host Amitabh Bachchan presented the first question in front of Urmila for Rs 5,000. Which of these words is used for the object used to wipe writing in chalk from a board? The contestant correctly answers Option C) Duster.
She tells host Amitabh Bachchan that it is the most important weapon for every teacher. Big B replies that the real weapon is the right words, but recalls that during his school days, teachers often used the duster on him whenever he got distracted in class. He adds, "Do teen baar pada hai humko bhi, hathyar."
While chatting with Big B, Urmila revealed that as a child, she once broke a television because she believed he was actually sitting inside it, hosting KBC. Mr. Bachchan gets shocked after learning about the incident. He then instantly added how Pakistani cricket fans break their television sets after their team's defeat. He says, "Ek baat bolun, please bahar mat boliyega...Bharat-Pakistan ka jab khel hota hai na toh Pakistan waale tod dete hain apna TV, sahi bol rahe hain ke nahi." (Let me say something — don’t share this outside... whenever India and Pakistan play, Pakistanis even smash their TVs, isn’t that so?)
Big B and the studio audience burst out laughing.
Urmila takes the help of Sanket Suchak lifeline for the question of Rs 20,000. On many shampoo bottles. what does '2-in-1, usually means? She selects Option C) Shampoo and Conditioner.
Urmila shared how her late father played a crucial role in her education. She revealed that he sold their shop and relocated to a town just to ensure both his daughters received proper education. She mentions it was his dream to see her on the hot seat of KBC.
Urmila opened up about one of the toughest phases of her life when she lost her father to a heart attack in 2013 and also went through a divorce. She shared that she couldn’t even grieve her father’s passing, as being the eldest, all the family responsibilities fell on her shoulders. Along with her mother and younger sister, Urmila began making plastic sacks at home, earning just Rs 2 per sack, stitching nearly 200 sacks daily while continuing her studies. Eventually, she secured a job at a primary school, got her sister married, and today she proudly works at a government school. Big B praises Urmila for her efforts.
The contestant lightened the moment with a quirky question for Big B. She shared that being a teacher, she often talks like one even at home, to the point where her mother and sister remind her, “Yeh aapka school nahi hai.” She then jokingly asked Amitabh Bachchan if, after spending so much time hosting KBC, he ever ends up asking for options at home or calling Jaya Bachchan “Deviji” in their everyday conversations. Mr. Bachchan responds saying that it often happens to him but he doesn't has the power to order at home. He says, "Haan ye hota hai aisa kayi baar, lekin aap bol sakti hai ghar par chup raho, ye karo woh karo. Wahan agar humne bol diya toh agle din aap humko yahan paayengi nahi. Aisi haalat hojayegi humari."
(Yes, this happens many times. But at home, you can still say ‘keep quiet, do this, do that.’ If I try saying that at home, the next day you won’t find me here. That would be my condition.)
Moving ahead in the, Urmila faces the question for Rs 5,00,000. Who conducts the election to the office of the Vice president of India? She uses her 'Audience Poll' lifeline and correctly answers by selecting Option C) Election Commission Of India.
Urmila next plays Super Sandook and answers 4 questions correctly. She earns Rs 40,000.
She gets stuck while answering the question for Rs 12,50,000. The eighteen segments of the primary mirror of the James Webb Space Telescope are made from which lightweight element? She takes the help of '50-50' lifeline but couldn't answer the question. She decides to quit the show and before leaving, Urmila takes a guess and selects Option C) Silicon, it turns out to be the incorrect answer. The correct answer is Option A) Beryllium.
She takes home Rs 7,50,000.
