Kaun Banega Crorepati 17: Diljit Dosanjh recalls fan from Abu Dhabi who only knew Amitabh Bachchan's Khuda Gawah and Tu Mujhe Kabool
Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is all set to appear as a special guest on Amitabh Bachchan’s popular quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 17. The makers recently released a new promo from the upcoming episode, which promises a blend of laughter, nostalgia, and heartfelt moments.
The promo begins with Amitabh Bachchan delivering one of his most memorable dialogues from his 1992 cult film Khuda Gawah. With his commanding voice and timeless charm, Big B says, “Sar zameen-e-Hindustan, as-salaam alaykum... mera naam Badshah Khan hai... ishq mera mazhab, mohabbat mera imaan... mohabbat, jiske liye Majnu ne seharaon ki khaakh chaani... ussi mohabbat ke liye Kabul ka yeh pathan sar zameen-e-Hindustan se mohabbat ka khair maangne aaya hai!”
As soon as Amitabh finishes the dialogue, the audience bursts into applause, and Diljit can be seen visibly moved, smiling in admiration and bowing respectfully toward the megastar.
Following this, Diljit shares a heartwarming story from one of his performances abroad. He recalls, “Hum sir Abu Dabi mein ek show kar rahe the... waha ek bohot bada mosque hai. Waha unhone hume allow kiya visit karne ke liye... toh maine unko invite kiya ki aap humare show pe aayiye.” (Sir, we were performing in Abu Dhabi, where there’s a big mosque. They allowed us to visit it, and I invited one of the men there to attend our show.)
Diljit adds that he asked the man if he listened to Punjabi songs, to which he replied that he didn’t—but he did know one Hindi movie and a song from that movie. To Diljit’s surprise, that song was from Khuda Gawah, titled “Tu Mujhe Kabool, Main Tujhe Kabool.”
Diljit then begins to sing the iconic song on the KBC stage. His melodious voice fills the set, leaving both Amitabh Bachchan and the audience amazed. Big B, smiling with pride, joins the applause as Diljit finishes the song.
The upcoming episode of KBC 17 will see Diljit discussing his charitable work related to the recent Punjab floods. He will also indulge in fun banter with the host.
