Kaun Banega Crorepati 17: Host Amitabh Bachchan reveals when he used a cigar and dressed up as an influential person to enter a club in the USA
The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 was filled with interesting stories, tense quiz moments, and heartfelt dreams. Contestant Vijay Kumar Prasad, a part-time teacher and budding businessman from Lohardaga, Jharkhand, took the hot seat, hoping to change his life with his winnings. While the game was intense, the episode also featured a hilarious anecdote shared by legendary host Amitabh Bachchan about his youthful days in the USA.
During a previous contestant Chhinder Pal’s segment, Big B asked a Rs 12,50,000 question:
"Which leader did the USA’s Central Intelligence Agency supposedly try to assassinate with poisoned cigars?" The options were: A. Ho Chi Minh, B. Fidel Castro, C. Idi Amin, D. Muammar Gaddafi.
The mention of cigars triggered a fun memory for Big B, who narrated an incident from his younger days. “I was in America, and at night there were these clubs where youngsters and stars would dance. Entry into these places was very difficult. My friends told me we had to go there. Somehow, we reached the venue, but the bouncers shooed us away,” he recalled.
The actor then came up with a mischievous plan. “I thought of playing a prank. There are big cars called limousines, and whoever arrives in that car is given a lot of respect. We arranged for some money, hired a limousine, dressed up nicely, and arrived at the club. Just before stepping out, I held a cigar in my hand. They welcomed me, thinking I was an influential person, and we got entry. Imagine the power of a cigar — it got us into the club!” Amitabh laughed, leaving the audience in splits.
Coming back to Vijay Prasad’s game, he shared that he came alone because of personal reasons. “Due to the recent business set-up, my brother couldn’t accompany me, and my wife couldn’t come as we have a two-and-a-half-year-old son,” he explained.
