Kaun Banega Crorepati 17: Smriti Mandhana skips the shoot after wedding with Palaash Muchhal gets postponed
Amitabh Bachchan hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 continues to captivate audiences even after 25 years on air. Marking its silver jubilee, the show has welcomed an impressive lineup of celebrities. From Diljit Dosanjh, Rishab Shetty, Farhan Akhtar, Javed Akhtar, Manoj Bajpayee, and Jaideep Ahlawat to Sharib Hashmi, several renowned personalities have recently appeared on the quiz show to honour its legacy. The upcoming episode will feature the players of the Indian women’s cricket team as they come on the show to celebrate their recent ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup victory.
The players shot with host Amitabh Bachchan for the episode yesterday (November 26) in Mumbai. While other members of the Indian's women cricket team shot for the episode, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was missing from the special shoot. Smriti was supposed to appear on KBC 17 sets with the rest of the team, but she preferred to miss the shoot because of personal reasons related to her wedding with music composer Palaash Muchhal, which was recently postponed.
On November 26, several players from the Indian women’s cricket team were spotted by the paparazzi on the sets of KBC 17. Many of them had also been a part of Smriti’s pre-wedding celebrations. The special line-up from the India Women’s Cricket ecosystem, Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Kaur Deol, Richa Ghosh, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, and India Women’s Team Head Coach Amol Muzumdar were spotted on the sets of KBC 17 by the photographers. However, Smriti, who was originally expected to be part of the lineup, decided to give the shoot a miss this time.
Smriti and Palaash Muchhal had planned to marry on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, and had already completed their haldi, mehendi, and sangeet festivities. However, the celebrations came to an abrupt stop when Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, faced an unexpected health complication and had to be hospitalised. In light of the situation, the pair announced that the wedding would be postponed. Soon after, Smriti deleted all her pre-wedding posts from social media, which led to widespread speculation.
