Krishna Bharadwaj on stepping into a woman’s look for Yaadein: The wig and jewellery were heavy, but the fun of transformation into a woman made it worthwhile
Yaadein keeps winning hearts with its endearing slice of life story that integrates everyday humor with relatable situations. The newest track features Sattu played by Krishna Bharadwaj and leaves everyone wondering if there is a medical reason or a mystery which science can’t solve.
Krishna Bharadwaj plays Sattu who behaves abnormally, stirring curiosity in the hospital. His family thinks he is channeling his late wife, Babli, leading to funny moments that keep both the hospital staff and the viewers guessing. The track strikes a fine balance between intrigue and lighthearted fun, making it a perfect fit for Sony SAB’s brand of feel-good entertainment.
Krishna Bharadwaj had fun transforming into Babli's shoes, wearing a Banarasi saree, jewelry, wig and makeup. The look was important to the storyline, but it also allowed the actor to explore how to get into a woman’s costume and character from the back end.
Talking about the experience, Krishna Bharadwaj shared, “This character was very different for me because I had to completely transform into a woman. Wearing the saree, heavy jewelry, wig, earrings, and all the makeup was not easy at all. After a few hours, I would start feeling the weight of everything because of the wig and clips. It honestly made me realise how much effort female actors put in every single day while shooting. I have a whole new respect for them. At the same time, the lighter tone of the track allowed me to enjoy the fun of switching between characters — it came naturally after rehearsals and was a refreshing experience.”
With its dose of humor, heart and relatability, Yaadein still continues to bring stories that audiences can smile with. It shows how even medical mysteries can be narrated with a twist of fun.
