Krushna Abhishek, Ali Asgar: Reasons that made these actors quit The Kapil Sharma Show

The Kapil Sharma Show may be extremely popular with the masses but it has had its fair share of controversies. With a fresh season around the corner, Krushna Abhishek shocked everyone after he confirmed that he is not going to return as Sapna. This has made us look at some of the most popular artists who left the show for various reasons. Take a look.

Krushna Abhishek, who earned accolades for playing the role of Sapna on TKSS, has quit the show. While certain reports stated he had contractual issues, a source to TOI, "The makers and Krushna tried their best to work things out. One of the major concerns was the fee. Eventually, monetary differences prompted him to leave TKSS. However, we are hoping that the differences get resolved in due course of time and Krushna returns to the show. We are not ruling out the possibility yet."

Bharti Singh, who essayed different characters like Titli Yadav and Kammo Bua among others, might not have quit but has certainly clarified that she won't be seen regularly on the show. She told an entertainment portal, "I am on a short break, and I am doing Sa Re Ga Ma Pa (Li’l Champs 9) too. So it’s not that I won’t do The Kapil Sharma Show, but I won’t be able to be regular there. Main dikhungi, par beech beech mein because I also have a baby now, and have some shows and events too."

Sunil Grover and Kapil Sharma had a nasty fallout in 2017 after the latter hurled a shoe at him on their flight back home from Australia. It made Sunil quit TKSS where he played the role of Dr Mashoor Gulati. It was a character dearly loved by the audience. Even though all is in the past now and the two have made peace with each other, there's no sign of Sunil returning to Kapil's show.

Ali Asgar, too, was involved in Sunil and Kapil's mid-air brawl. And just like the former, he chose to walk away from the show. In an interview with IANS he made his differences with Kapil and the team apparent to everyone. He said, "We worked there for the longest period of time, but after a certain point, there was a time when I felt that I should move from the show because I had creative differences with Kapil and his team. My character wasn't going anywhere and it was becoming stagnant and I felt there was no scope for creative improvement."

Upasana Singh, who played the role of Twinkle in TKSS for about a year, also left the show. In an interview with BT, the actress dismissed the rumours of having differences with Kapil. She said, "I did a few episodes with Kapil but then I realised I wanted to do something creatively satisfying than just be a part of his show for a few minutes. Kapil and I are on good terms and we regularly communicate with each other. I am hoping that he will someday write a role for me because that will justify my talent and creatively satisfy me as an actor. I don't want to work because I have to do something on television. That's the reason, currently, I haven't taken up any projects on television."

Sugandha Mishra was seen as Vidyavati (Teacher) on the show. However, right after Sunil and Ali left the show due to the mid-air brawl with Kapil, Sugandha was dropped from the show, too. She revealed in an interview, "After Sunil Grover ji left, there were many changes that happened in the format of the show. And we were not called again. I was going with the flow and I feel my journey with the show halted there."

Navjot Singh Sidhu was seen as a special guest on TKSS and used to entertain everyone with his shayris. However, he was replaced on the show by Arachana Puran Singh after being slammed for his remarks on Pulwama attack in 2019. It led to the trend of 'Boycott The Kapil Sharma Show and Sidhu'. Since then, he has not returned to the show.
