Veteran actor

Anupam Shyam Ojha

succumbed to multiple organ failure at the age of 63 on August 9. After his demise, the actor's brother

Anurag Shyam

opened up about the financial problems the family underwent. He said that Anupam Shyam had approached several bigwigs from Bollywood for monetary help including Bollywood's superstar and his film Lagaan's co-actor Aamir Khan.

His brother said, "Our family has been facing a lot. My mother died last month. Anupam was shocked but he couldn't go to Pratapgarh. Without a dialysis centre in the town, going there would have caused a major health risk for Anupam. We urged for a dialysis centre in Pratapgarh and we even went to Aamir Khan for the same. Aamir Khan gave us assurance but stopped picking our calls after a few months."

For the past many years, Anupam Shyam was on dialysis after suffering a severe kidney infection.
