Talking about her previous show wrapping up abruptly, Mamta says, “Zindagi was a beautiful show and I received positive feedback for it. So, it was obviously upsetting when the decision to pull it off air was taken. It is never a nice feeling when a show wraps up, as a lot of people bank on it for their livelihood.”

The actress is glad that her new character will be different from the previous one. “Yes, the new character has a different shade though it’s again a positive one. As an artiste, you always want to play different characters.”

Mamta is also excited about sharing screen space with veteran actors like Sushmita Mukherjee and Rajendra Gupta. She says, “It’s nice to work with senior people, as you get to learn a lot from them and hone your skills along the way. Experienced people enhance your performance. I worked with

Sulbha Arya

ji and Sudhir Pandey ji in my previous show and in the new one, I am working with another set of experienced actors. It’s so heartwarming to realise that even after achieving so much in their career, they continue to be down-to-earth, real and dedicated towards their craft. It inspires you to stay rooted, too. It makes you believe that passion and emotion kabhi khona nahi chahiye because when I decided to become an actor, I first thought of passion and emotion, and not glamour or money associated with it.”
