‘Manmohini’ actor Ankit Siwach is no more an eligible bachelor. He will tie the knot with his girlfriend, Nupur Bhatia, in Uttarakhand, today. The couple had a haldi ceremony yesterday (February 3). By: Neha Maheshwri
The ‘Haldi’ function took place at Ankit’s hometown Meerut
Ankit told us, “My haldi function took place at my home in Meerut. We then went to the resort where Nupur is staying with her family, with the haldi that was to be applied on her.”
The couple looked resplendent in complimenting outfits
While the groom-to-be looked dapper in a green kurta and pink Nehru jacket, the soon-to-be-dulhan was resplendent in a dark pink sari.
The couple celebrated by dancing to the Dhol beats
What followed was a lot of naach-gaana. Ankit shared, “We danced to Punjabi songs and beats of the dhol. It was a close-knit affair with only our families and friends in attendance.”
Ankit and Nupur exchanged rings after Haldi ceremony
He added, “We exchanged rings after the haldi ceremony. I wore a turban for the function as Nupur is a Sikh. We are making sure that every ritual is performed according to both, Sikh and Hindu traditions."
The wedding to happen in both Sikh and Hindu style
The wedding, too, will happen in two styles — first a Sikh wedding at the gurudwara followed by a Hindu wedding at the temple.
Ankit’s friends from the industry to attend the reception
Nobody from the industry was present in the Haldi and ring exchanging ceremonies. Most of Ankit’s showbiz friends will attend the reception on February 5.
