The heavy rains in Mumbai have caused water logging in many areas, including SJ Studios located in Andheri.
TV shows like Kumkum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya, Faltu are currently being shot at SJ Studios. Shakti Anand, who is shooting for Kundali Bhagya, shares how water logging has always been a problem during monsoon here.
Shakti says, "After almost two decades, I am again shooting at SJ Studios. The water-logging due to rains is a common problem. I remember shooting for Ek Ladki Anjaani Si in 2006 and even then, there used to be water logging. We used to walk in knee-deep water and reach our rooms. Water fortunately does not reach the set because it is located on a higher floor. But the parking area and driving on the roads around is a nightmare. A week ago, I took an hour to get home and my colleagues took three hours to reach their homes."
Shakti adds, "Today, the entire unit has been given an off, but we don't have a bank of epsiodes and so we will have to get back to work tomorrow."
Shakti hopes there is a permanent solution to the problem. He says, "The water logging at Saki Naka creates a lot of traffic issues in Andheri. The sewage water overflows and we all have to wade through the water sometimes to make it to the set."
Faltu actor Mahesh Thakur is also currently shooting at SJ Studios. He says, "The rains lead to water logging at the gate, but my set is located on the hill once you enter the studios. So, there were a few teething issues when the first downpour happened and the technicians had to stop the leakage, but now we are fine."
