Gauahar Khan

in a tweet wrote, “Oscar Jeet Gaye, par izzat haar gaye ! Sad about #willsmith attacking a fellow artist , !!! Comedians at risk , #NewAge #Notolerance . Dialogue is everything, on screen and off.”

Will Smith won the Best Actor Oscar for King Richard.

Reacting to the slap incident, Karanvir Sharma wrote, “I feel both are in the wrong. Although, Will Smith did escalate the situation with a physical assault. This is not the answer. Also, Chris! who makes humour on someone’s medical condition ? Like seriously. Violence is never the answer. Whether it’s 2 individuals or 2 Countries.”

Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain fame Saumya Tandon reacted to comedian Papa CJ’s tweet that read: If there are no consequences for #WillSmith getting on stage and slapping #ChrisRock at the #Oscars, then it sends a signal to audiences all over the world that you can assault a comedian for telling a joke that you did not like and get away with it.

To this Saumya wrote, “Totally, sad times. Really .,..,.and worst is people are defending it.”

Raj Singh Arora has previously tweeted about the same. Read the tweets:

Nakuul Mehta shared actress Sophia Bush’s tweet that wrote, “Violence isn’t ok. Assault is never the answer. Also? This is the 2nd time that Chris has made fun of Jada on the #Oscars stage, & tonight he went after her alopecia. Punching down at someone’s auto-immune disease is wrong. Doing so on purpose is cruel. They both need a breather.” Nakuul wrote, “This”.

The Hollywood star, who had smacked the comic after the latter made a joke about his actor-wife Jada Pinkett-Smith during the award ceremony on Sunday, posted a statement on Instagram and admitted that his behaviour on Sunday night was "unacceptable and inexcusable".
