Pics! Indian Idol 12 finalist Mohd Danish ties the knot with singer Shadab Afridi's sister Farheen Afridi in Mumbai

Mohd Danish, one of the Indian Idol 12 finalists, who was later seen in the reality show Superstar Singers 2, tied the knot with Farheen Faridi on April 27 in Mumbai. The singer had a wedding reception for his industry colleagues a day later. Danish had an arranged marriage and his wife Farheen is Bollywood playback singer Shadab Faridi’s sister. Shadab Faridi got popular when he sang the title song of Salman Khan film Sultan.

Danish says, “My parents had already planned my wedding with Farheen some time before I did Indian Idol 12. We got engaged a few months ago. We belong to a very traditional family from Muzaffarnagar in UP and our parents planned everything. People will be surprised but initially, I had only seen my wife’s picture and never met her. So, I am getting to know her now after tying the knot. Farheen also comes from a family of music. She has just completed her graduation and I have moved to Mumbai to pursue my music career. In fact, I was inspired to participate in reality shows, because my brother-in-law Shadab started his career from a music reality show.”

Sharing how his wife has seen him on Indian Idol 12, he said, "Farheen has watched me perform on Indian Idol 12. She likes my performances and supports me."

Danish is happy that many of his colleagues attended his wedding. He said, “Sayli Kamble, Nihal Tauro, Nachiket, Anjali Gaikwad and several others from Indian Idol were part of the celebrations. I was also happy that Javed Ali,, Manoj Muntashir, Sonu Nigam, Palak Muchhal, Mithoon and Rakhi Sawant came to wish me. Rakhiji danced at my wedding.”

The young singer is looking forward to a new phase in his life. “It feels nice to be married. Life will completely change now as Farheen and I begin a new chapter. I got married just a couple of days ago and I just got back from a work trip for a show, so our honeymoon will have to wait.”
