Poonam Pandey's team took to social media to inform everyone the news of her sudden demise. The actress has been open about her health issues since her Lock Upp days and had made headlines several for her emotional revelations on the reality show. A look at times when she was in the news.

Her sudden demise

Poonam Pandey passed away earlier today (February 2) due to cervical cancer. The actress and social media influencer passed away at the age of 32 and it was announced by her team on social media. The post read, “THIS MORNING IS A TOUGH ONE FOR US. DEEPLY SADDENED TO INFORM YOU THAT WE HAVE LOST OUR BELOVED POONAM TO CERVICAL CANCER. EVERY LIVING FORM THAT EVER CAME IN CONTACT WITH HER WAS MET WITH PURE LOVE AND KINDNESS. IN THIS TIME OF GRIEF. WE WOULD REQUEST FOR PRIVACY WHILE WE REMEMBER HER FONDLY FOR ALL THAT WE SHARED.”Later, ETimes TV, reached out to Poonam Pandey's publicist and they confirmed the news of her demise.

Poonam revealed her family was thrown out of the society

In one of the episodes of Lockk Up, Poonam Pandey opened up about a heartbreaking incident and told Karanvir Bohra and Shivam Sharma that the incident took place with her family, because they were her family. The actress revealed that her family was thrown out of the housing society without any specific reason but only because it was ‘her family’. She even got emotional while talking about this incident that took place a couple of years ago. She said, “I haven't said anything bad to anyone till today, show me an article where I have said something wrong to anyone.”

“I have been totally blacklisted”

Poonam Pandey expressed her distress on being judged for not being a ‘Bhartiya Naari’ in one of the episodes of Lock Upp. She broke down emotionally and shared how she isn’t accepted by anyone because of whatever she has done in the past. She then shared, “Can I be me? If I don't like something then why should I do thinking what would the audience be thinking about me. Whatever that happened with me at home (domestic abuse) that is okay. Other than the life that I have lived, I have just been judged, trolled and mostly judged by women not men because I am not a 'Bharatiya Naari.' I don't do things as per the Indian culture. I am treated like an alien. People have a certain reaction just by hearing the name Poonam Pandey. I feel very bad because today I am not someone's wife, daughter-in-law but I am someone's daughter. Just because I did a few things in my life, I have been totally blacklisted.”

Poonam Pandey on her abusive marriage

During her initial days in Lock Upp, Poonam Pandey talked about her abusive marriage and former husband Sam Bombay. Poonam claimed that Sam was extremely violent with her and she revealed how she wasn't allowed to do anything that she wished to in her own house. The actress also spoke in-depth about facing domestic violence in her four year long marriage. Later, she confirmed that she didn't get any help from the house staff as they themselves were scared.

Suffering multiple injuries brain haemorrhage

As Poonam came out about facing domestic abuse, she said that she has suffered multiple injuries on her nose and head. She mentioned, "I've been trying for long, this has been happening for good four years. He didn't just beat once, my brain injury did not heal because he kept beating me on the same spot again and again. I would apply makeup, gloss and laugh in front of everyone, to hide it.”

“I’ve not gotten my periods”

Poonam made headlines when she spoke about her health issues and not getting periods for a long time. Poonam broke down and revealed that she has been battling a gynaecological condition. Poonam told Prince Narula in Lock Upp, “I haven't had period for months and it because of which I've developed health issues. I've made you win so many tasks Munawar in the past. My body has had a few issues which I can't discuss on camera. I've been in and out of the hospital and then coming here and still playing the game. Back to back hospital mein jaake phir bhi khel rahi hoon main…”
