Chandni Bhagwanani, who was finalised for the negative lead after 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’s' time leap, has been ousted from the show, sources tell us. Apparently, the channel wasn’t happy with her and they replaced her overnight with

. “Chandni had given a look test and the makers liked her, but the channel wasn’t happy and they brought in a replacement. Chandni was supposed to begin shooting on Friday, but on Thursday night, she learnt that she was being replaced. Poonam came in as a last-minute replacement,” sources tell us.

When we contacted Chandni, she said, “I haven’t received any intimation from the channel or the makers yet, so I can’t really comment. We all know how unpredictable life can be, especially if you are working in the entertainment industry.” But an excited Poonam told us, “I’m very excited to work with seasoned and senior actresses like Anita Raj and Surekha Sikri.”
“The negative role is inspired by Urmila Matondkar’s character in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. The character’s name will be Bindu, and she will be the obsessive lover of Raja (played by Sarrtaj Gill) after the leap. Eisha Singh, who recently quit Ishq Ka Rang Safed, has been finalised for the female lead,” a source said.
