Pratigya actor Anupam Shyama aka
Sajjan Singh
passed away last night (August 8) due to multiple organ failure. The veteran actor’s co-star
Pooja Gor
from the show shared an emotional note for him on her social media account.
Pooja shared a series of images with
Anupam Shyam on her Instagram account and mentioned in her post that though they played rivals on-screen, the father-daughter bond that she had with him will always be special. She also thanked him for correcting her Hindi pronunciation and also for introducing her to Hindi literature. While ending the note, Pooja stated that she will always miss his love, care and unmatchable performance.
The senior actor was 63-year-old and was hospitalised a few days ago for kidney-related issues. He was in the intensive care unit. He was put on a ventilator for the past couple of days. However, on August 8, he passed away due to multiple organ failure.
After his sudden demise several filmmakers, TV actors and his co-stars from Pratigya expressed grief.
Last year in March, the
Slumdog Millionaire
actor was hospitalised after he developed serious kidney issues. After recovering, Anupam
Shyam had to undergo dialysis on a regular basis. As per reports, the seasoned actor would complete his shoot and then go for dialysis thrice a week.
Anupam Shyam was respected for his work. The actor belonged to Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh. He began his career in 1993. He is an alumnus of
Bhartendu Academy of Dramatic Arts
in Lucknow. He has done several popular Bollywood films like Dastak, Dil Se…, Shakti, Golmaal, and Munna Michael.
