Hina starred in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai for eight years, and Rajan Shahi stated in interviews that there had been disagreements between him and the actress. The producer fired Hina because she refused to appear in scenes that praised Shivangi Joshi's character in the show.
Rajan Shahi recently spoke with Siddharth Kannan about the process of preparing Hina for the performance. He stated that the show's script was already done when he decided to cast Hina. He oversaw Hina's spa, waxing, bleaching sessions, and every other aspect that was necessary. They had her hair done and finished extensions to ensure she looked the part.
Rajan further stated that he ensured that Hina's rehearsals were completed every day. When asked about Hina's casting, he recalled that the channel had refused to approve her as the lead, but he was determined to cast Hina as the lead actress.
He had planned their outdoor shoot in Jaipur, which cost him Rs 40 lakhs from his own cash. He promised the channel that if the show didn't work, he would refund their money.
Rajan Shahi further claimed that, despite what had happened between them, Hina Khan still praises him for standing by her. Even today, Akshara and Naitik's story remains popular and one of the most beloved.
