He further shared about the tough times of his life while chasing his dreams: "I used to walk around 50 kilometers a day to give auditions. After resigning from my job, I put all my money into the house and sold my car since I did not have enough money to pay for it. Because I used to make a lot of money in my corporate career, I was used to a luxury lifestyle and public transportation like buses and trains was not my cup of tea."
"Also, affording a cab or a rickshaw for daily travel was not possible. So, I decided to walk. My acting career began with ads, and many people are unaware that I had appeared in more than a dozen television shows before 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain'. I was fortunate to bag the role of Anokhe Lal Saxena in 'Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain' with the help of my director, Shashank Bali Ji, and from that moment, there was no turning back for me."
"I believed that acting was my true calling. The reason I accepted this character was that it was a very unusual and challenging character. It was very difficult for any actor to pull it off. I am a mad guy in real life also," he added.
The actor who had been part of projects such as 'Mardaani', 'Raid', 'CID', 'F.I.R.' and many more is quite satisfied with the love and response he is getting from the audience.
"I feel amazed when children adore my character and try to imitate it. Their love has made me a household name. I feel blessed to receive so much love and appreciation," he concluded.
Adaa Khan has been missing from the small screen for a while now. But she hasn't quit the industry, she clarifies. So what has she been upto? Read on....
After a stint on Khatron Ke Khiladi 10 in 2020, Adaa was seen in a special episode of Naagin 6 a few months ago. The actress, however, has not appeared in a full-fledged daily soap since Vish Ya Amrit: Sitara. She reveals, “Sitara ended in 2019, after which I did Khatron Ke Khiladi. Post that, I took to travelling and visited eight countries before COVID hit in March 2020."
Life changed for everyone in the last two years. Talking about this period, Adaa says, "Things came to a standstill for two years after. Everybody was sitting at home. But it worked for me because I spent all that time with my family. Later I also got busy with work. I did three OTT projects and a couple of music videos.”
There has been speculation that she has quit the television industry. But Adaa rubbishes these rumours and reveals that she is simply waiting for the right project to come by. “I don’t know why, but people think I have quit the industry. I’d like to clarify that I am very much a part of the industry," she says.
Adaa says she will never quit the television industry. She says, "Just because I haven’t taken up a full-fledged role on a show in a while, that doesn’t mean I have quit the medium. I am still on the lookout for a good project." She adds, “TV has given me everything I have today. I may step away from time to time to explore more opportunities, but I won’t ever keep away from the small screen.”
A career in television gives one fame and money, but it also means dealing with uncertainty and insecurities. So how has she handled this in her 13-year career? “Yes, the profession is as demanding as it is rewarding. Thankfully, I live with my family and they are always around to support me," she says.
Talking further about the ups and downs in showbiz Adaa says, "As for the unpredictability, not just the acting industry, even life is! But that’s a part and parcel of life. One always goes through good times and bad times. Otherwise we wouldn’t appreciate life for what it offers. One has to take things in their stride and deal with difficult situations one day at a time.”
On the personal front, she is single and says, “My forever commitment is to take care of myself and my family. As for a relationship and settling down, I believe in destiny and always say that it will happen when it is destined to.”
