Says a source, "Apparently Salman and Sohail were on the lookout for an innocent, and beautiful looking yet aggressive character to play the challenging lead.

But he and Sohail were taken aback when they saw Sana's spat with a rival contestant on the show. They were surprised with the aggressiveness and bottled up emotions that Sana expressed in the fight on the show. They couldn't believe that Sana was capable of so much grey emotions.
When they saw the footage, they felt that Sana Khan would be ideal to play the role in Jai Ho, for which they were on a lookout for an actress. Earlier Salman had promised her a role in a film, considering that he has an eye for talent and has launched and promoted several actors in the past. And he kept his words and signed Sana for the challenging role.
