Sandeep Patil: This industry is full of rejection; how you deal with it depends on your mindset
Actor Sandeep K Patil has marked an important milestone in his career by making his television debut with the iconic show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The reboot features Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay returning as Tulsi and Mihir Virani.
Sandeep plays Suhas, Vrinda’s (Tanisha Mehta) ex-fiancé, and says debuting with such a legendary show feels surreal. “Getting to debut on TV with Kyunki is truly a blessing. I grew up watching this show with my family. My mother never missed an episode, so being part of it years later is deeply emotional for me,” he shares.
Calling his journey humbling, he adds, “As a newcomer in Mumbai, getting this role felt like destiny. Working with Ekta ma’am and iconic actors like Smriti Irani ma’am and Amar Upadhyay sir has been a huge learning experience. The guidance from directors really helped build my confidence, especially since this is my first television show.”
The actor says audience appreciation made the experience unforgettable. “The love and recognition I received made the journey even more special. Kyunki will always remain a milestone in my acting career.”
Talking about struggle and competition, Sandeep is realistic yet hopeful. “This industry is full of rejection. How you deal with it depends on your mindset. Negativity will come, but you have to accept it and let it go. I truly believe kismat chalti hai, but only when your hard work matches it.”
He adds, “I’m not a star kid. I come from a very ordinary family with no connections. I chose this path knowing it would be hard, so I don’t get to complain. I believe the universe has bigger plans for me. All I can do is work hard, stay patient and consistent. No shortcuts, no guarantees. I’m here to take risks, not to play safe.”
Sandeep began his career as a model, went on to feature in multiple TV commercials, and is also known for the series Personal Trainer and the film Fateh.
