This is the second season of the popular show, Sasural Simar Ka, which featured Dipika Kakar as Simar and Jayati Bhatia as Mata ji. Reports suggest, Dipika has a brief role on the show as Simar. Actresses
Tanya Sharma and
Radhika Muthukumar will be seen alongside Avinash Mukherjee and
Karan Sharma in Sasural Simar Ka 2.
Speaking about Sasural Simar Ka, it was a huge hit but it also received criticism for some of its storylines, which were tagged "bizarre." Jayati Bhatia, in an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, said, "Whatever trolling happened at that time was not from the viewers but from the industry's side. If it would have been from the audiences’ side we would have not achieved 4.2 TRP or we would have not been the number 1 show all across the channels. Because the viewers understood our emotions. The viewers understood the emotional connection and so did we. The audience understood the emotions of the show, but the industry took a lot of time to understand why people were watching the show and were connected. They wondered why we were popular and number one, despite showing weird stuff. But then they started copying us and made shows which had bhed, bakra and what not. The industry did not understand that it was the emotional connection it was not about Naagin, Makkhi or Daayan."
Jayati Bhatia plays the role of Geetanjali Devi on the show, who is the sister of Mata ji.
