Shark Tank India 4: Hearing pitcher Ayush’s financial struggles Namita Thapar tells Ritesh Agarwal, ‘isko dekh ke teri yaad arahi hai’
In the latest episode of Shark Tank India Season 4, Ayush Chauhan, the founder of Dacby Technologies, appeared in Episode 11, seeking an offer of ₹75 lakhs for 2.2% equity, valuing his company at ₹34.09 crore. The episode featured all the sharks: Peyush Bansal, Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, and Ritesh Agarwal. Although Ayush did not secure a deal, he received invaluable mentorship to help grow his business.
Ayush shared his financial struggles and the resilience he demonstrated in running Dacby Technologies. When Ritesh asks how much he has in his account, Ayush says “4000-5000.” The Sharks express shock. Ayush informs them that he takes pocket money from his parents. Ritesh calls him a fighter. Namita looks at Ritesh and says, “He reminds me of you, Ritesh.”
Ritesh said, “Like Namita said, you do remind me of myself. I had no place to stay. I am out of this deal. Your personal situation looks a bit difficult. In our family office, we have a fellowship, where we offer a grant and we don’t take any equity. We will offer you Rs 10 lakh grant. You don’t use it in your company. You use it to better your life and I know you will do better in business.”
Namita and the other sharks commended Ayush's determination and courage, highlighting his indomitable spirit. However, Aman Gupta offered a contrasting view and says, “My view is different. You are from IIT, you left it, galti ki. You made your friends quit, you made a mistake. You took money from your dad, you made a mistake. You took money from investors, you made a mistake. You are not a good entrepreneur. You are very raw. You are not cut out for business.”
