Shark Tank India 5: Balika Vadhu’s Neha Marda turns entrepreneur; reveals losing all confidence post pregnancy

Balika Vadhu fame Neha Marda, who has been away from the small screen after she gave birth to a baby girl in 2023. The actress has now made a comeback on TV, not as an actress but an entrepreneur. She will be seen in the upcoming episode of Shark Tank India season 5. In a promo released by the channel on their Instagram account, the actress can be seen opening up about how post pregnancy body odour shattered all her confidence.

Neha, who has recently stepped into entrepreneurship, will appear on the show to pitch her personal care brand. She also spoke about the emotional and personal reasons that inspired her to start the business.

In the promo, during her pitch, Neha openly shares about her post-pregnancy period and reveals how a sudden change in body odor affected her confidence.

She says, “Post my pregnancy, I started feeling a little discomfort with my body odor. Being an actor, my confidence was shaken that day. Nothing actually worked to solve it."

She adds, “What began as a personal problem soon turned into a business idea."



However, things did not seem very easy for Neha and she is seen facing some sharp questions from the Sharks. Despite Neha being a well-known face on Hindi TV, the Sharks openly question the brand’s early reach and growth. The Sharks can be seen discussing Neha’s celebrity status. They question whether her popularity as a TV actress helped boost the brand’s marketing and sales. Neha Marda is seen facing some tough questions from Sharks Amit Jain, Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta.


After her pitch, the Sharks closely observed the product and came up with their queries about pricing and product's claims. In the promo, Anupam asks about the roll-on’s fragrance promise and says, “Yeh fragrance ka matlab kya hai? Is it just a gimmick?" Namita Thapar also shares her queries about the high pricing and asks, "Rs 200 mein deo milte hain, Rs 100 mein bhi milte hain, aur aapka Rs 999 ka hai. India relate kar paayegi?"

For the uninitiated, Neha Marda rose to fame after playing the role of Gehna in Balika Vadhu. The actress took a break from acting to embrace motherhood. She has also been a part of other shows like Doli Armaanon Ki, Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa to name a few.
