Shivangi Verma opens up about the importance of self-love on Valentine’s Day; says, “It is a reminder to appreciate love in all forms.”
Valentine’s Day is usually seen as a celebration meant only for couples but actress Shivangi Verma believes the meaning of the day goes much deeper. Sharing her thoughts, Shivangi speaks honestly about love, self-growth, and how her perspective has evolved over time.
Talking about what Valentine’s Day means to her as a single woman, Shivangi says, “For me, Valentine’s Day is not limited to couples. I see it as a reminder to appreciate love in all forms family, friends, work, and the relationship I have with myself.” She adds that being single does not make the day feel empty. “Being single doesn’t make the day incomplete. It actually gives me the space to reflect, grow, and value my own journey,” she says.
When asked whether Valentine’s Day feels like pressure, a celebration, or just another day, Shivangi answers with maturity. “When I was younger, I think there was a little pressure because everything around the day is very couple-focused,” she shares. However, with time, her thoughts have changed. “Now I’ve realised that love is not about one particular day. If you have someone special, you celebrate together. If you don’t, you still have many reasons to feel grateful,” she adds.
As an actor, Shivangi often performs romantic scenes that look flawless on screen. But she clearly draws a line between reel and real life. “On screen, romance is very polished and dramatic. Everything looks perfect,” she says. “But in real life, love is much more honest and grounded. It’s about understanding each other, being patient, and growing together.” She adds that she no longer looks for perfection but values sincerity, emotional support, and stability.
Speaking about self-love, Shivangi prefers to keep Valentine’s Day simple. “I like to keep it peaceful. Spending time with close friends, watching a good film, or just relaxing at home feels enough,” she says. “Self-love is about taking care of your mind, body, and emotions.”
“Earlier, attraction and excitement mattered more. Today, I value emotional maturity, respect, and consistency,” she concludes, adding that peace and balance matter more than grand romantic gestures.
