Shoaib Ibrahim on wife Dipika Kakar making all the preparations for his sister Saba's wedding: It could happen only because of my superwoman

TV couple, Shoaib Ibrahim and Dipika Kakar threw a lavish wedding reception for his sister Saba last night in Mumbai. The reception party was attended by all their industry friends, co-stars and family. The couple spoke to the media about their happiness for Saba and the three-day wedding festivities that took place in their home town Maudaha. Shoaib praised wife Dipika for single-handedly making all the arrangements for the wedding and called her a superwoman.

Dipika: If you see any of our videos, VLOGS you will realise our Ibrahim family sets an example that it’s not necessary that a mother-in-law is always negative or a sister-in-law (nanad) is always there to create problems, or when bahu comes to sasural she makes life miserable or mother-in-law’s life difficult. Everyone in our family is very positive and our entire family’s motive is that we should have love in our family in our hearts.

Shoaib: It all depends on the couple and it is Saba and Khalid’s decision. They have many plans in mind, now it is up to them where they want to execute it. It happens there or here it all depends on them. She has already bought a house for herself and Sunny’s house is also there. So, they will together decide and take a call as a couple.

Shoaib: I have advised Khalid that the boy is the one who keeps the balance maintained between wife and mother. Because the wife leaves her own family and comes into your life leaving everything behind and it your duty to adjust her into your family. He is the one to maintain balance. I told Saba stay the way you are.

Shoaib: Koi kitna accha kyu Na Ho jab aap apni bacchi ko Kisi Aur ke ghar Bhej rahe Ho, toh ek darr, nervousness hoti hai. The way she has been. Saba is one of those who will keep things inside her because she doesn’t want to bother our mom and me. So, I told her to always share everything with me and asked Khalid to keep her happy.

Shoaib: With God’s grace there’s nothing that I missed because of my hectic schedule. I did everything that I could do. Whatever we had planned, we executed all of it. From all the big functions to small ones, we did the way we had envisioned. I just missed one day because of my shoot and Dipika arrived there a day ahead. I ensured that I made the most of it once I arrived.

Dipika: I won’t take the credit for the wedding preparations alone. Because you can’t do such a thing alone. Shoaib and I had envisioned things since a long time and when things are well thought it becomes easy to be execute. We have such amazing people around us to help us. My boys, my devars, my staff who are more than family to us. Everyone has been on their toes to help us make this happen.

Shoaib: The fact is whatever has happened and it could happen it is only because of Dipika. It could be executed only because of her. You all know I was busy with the shoots. I was there virtually on video calls, messages and calls but not physically present. Be it clothes, venue, food, decor, tasting, everything could happen only because of my superwoman. The credit goes to her.

Shoaib: I would wish them all the happiness and love and no matter what challenge life throws at them, they should always become each other’s support. They should be together.

Dipika-Shoaib: For me Saba’s Bidaai was the toughest part. It was such an emotional moment. As you all know we stayed in the same building, so it was a tough part to bid goodbye to her and send her to another state. It was an emotional moment and there was a moment when I didn’t want her to go. But it is a tradition that we have been following. Believe me or not we haven’t seen any of the Vlogs from the nikaah because it is so emotional. I just can’t see it. Whenever, any of the family members are seeing they are getting emotional especially Papa. He is every emotional right now so we are avoiding showing it to him.

Dipika: I have spent so much time with Saba and there are so many fond memories with her. When I got married to Shoaib, Saba was with us. She has been with me and when she first came to Mumbai she was very naive and she learnt everything from me with an open mind. She has been a child for me and she learnt everything from me open heartedly. For me, her wedding has been an emotional moment. It was that journey and I was recently telling Shoaib that it is almost like getting your daughter married. The emotion is half of that obviously it won't be like a mother, I can't compare a mother's emotion. She is very dear to me and will always be to me."

The function was attended by Shoaib and Dipika's industry friends like Gauahar Khan, Zaid Darbar, Ayushi Khurana, Shagufta Ali, Jaya Ojha, Jayati Bhatia, Sambhavna Seth and husband Avinash, Nimisha Vakharia amongst others.

Shoaib: We are very excited and nervous at the same time and I would like to thank you all for attending the ceremony. All of you covered the wedding full-fledged and thank you everyone for that. More than me our mother is missing Saba a lot because my mother was very close to her and spent time with her. Whenever I would return from my shoot, I would go and spend time with them and she would make tea for me. I am happy that she is very happy in her life and got married to the person she wanted to."
