Shubhangi Atre, who entertained audiences as Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain for nearly a decade, has now bid farewell to the show. She shot her final episode on set and was given an emotional farewell by the cast and crew. Shubhangi shared a video on her Instagram account, giving fans a sneak peek of her last day on the sets.
In the clip, Shubhangi is seen meeting each member of the cast and crew and offering them jalebis as she bids farewell. Calling them her “extended family,” she wrote, “Jalebi wala #goodbye to My extended family ps. Last day shoot #bgph #gratitude."
Recently, in an exclusive interview with Bombay Times, Shubhangi expressed her gratitude for being a part of the show. She says, “I always promised Mrs. Kohli that my journey in the show would start with aan, baan aur shaan and that is exactly how it would end too. I could not have asked for a better exit. There is no point delving into the reasons for the replacement. I see it as a blessing in disguise because as an artist, I want to explore new characters. The idea is to step out of here and start looking for work again. After seeing so much in life, I am in fighter mode now and focused only on my daughter and my work.”
She added, "Saying goodbye to a show she had been part of for ten years was deeply emotional. She shares, “It definitely felt like leaving home. I became extremely emotional in the last few days of the shoot. The character had become a part of me. I feel immense gratitude because this show has given me everything.”
The original Angoori Bhabhi, Shilpa Shinde will be stepping in Shubhangi's shoes to play the role again. Shubhangi shot her final episode last week.
