India celebrates

Hindi

Diwas on January 10 every year to emphasise the importance of the language and promote it among every generation. Actor

Puneett Chouksey

is happy about working in a profession that keeps him involved in speaking Hindi.

He says, "I'm proud that working on

Hindi TV

shows has not only encouraged me to be more involved in talking Hindi but also has polished my Hindi speaking abilities. Television has helped me to become a great Hindi speaker. People here are giving more importance to the English language than Hindi, due to which English has had a great impact on Hindi and many words of Hindi have been replaced by English. Hindi has been made the official language but the purpose with which it was made a national language has not been achieved yet. Therefore, we should understand our duty to appreciate Hindi and respect it. Today, a lot of attention is paid to foreign languages, but no special attention is given to the Hindi language. We should not forget the Hindi language. It is our national language, we should respect it as Hindi also reflects our culture and civilization.

Celebrating Hindi Diwas

is an effort to promote the Hindi language we all should make."

The actor, who is currently seen playing the role of

Ansh Oberoi

in ‘

Sirf Tum

’, reminds us how our language holds third position in the world. He continues, "Hindi is comparatively a complex language, Today when we are adopting other languages for communicating in our daily lifestyle. People far across from the world come to India and invest their time and lives in learning our language- Hindi. Considering that we should not forget that we should emphasize our learning in Hindi as equally as we do in English. Now, the number of people who speak and know Hindi is increasing all over the world and Hindi is ranked third in the most spoken language in the world."

Puneett, who has featured in shows like ‘Sadda Haq’, ‘Laal Ishq’, ‘Shakti’ and ‘Naagin 3’, feels the day unites us and reminds us of our roots. "Hindi Diwas reminds us of our true identity and unites the people of the country. It is a day that inspires us to have a sense of patriotism," he concluded.
