Srishti Jain and Vaishnavi Prajapati join the cast of Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan
Upcoming fiction drama Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan brings to television a powerful and deeply moving tale of resilience and redemption. Adapted from the acclaimed Kannada show Puttakana Makkalu, the show follows the inspiring journey of Ganga Mai, a woman abandoned by her husband for not bearing a son. Refusing to be broken by society’s prejudice, she stands tall, embracing the dual roles of nurturer and provider, as she raises her three daughters with unwavering strength, compassion, and grace. The show is a tribute to emotional honesty and the unyielding spirit of womanhood.
Following the introduction of veteran actress Shubhangi Latkar as the resilient Ganga Mai and Amandeep Sidhu in a pivotal role as Sneha, Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan now welcomes two more dynamic female characters to its narrative. Popular television actress Srishti Jain joins the cast as Sahana, Ganga Mai’s eldest daughter, a gentle, selfless woman whose quiet strength and emotional intelligence mirror her mother’s. As the backbone of the family’s home-run mess business, Sahana is admired for her cooking skills and calming presence, often mediating between her strong-willed younger sister and principled mother. She emerges as a calm mediator whose journey gradually unfolds into one of self-assurance and independence. Adding youthful energy to the ensemble is the talented Vaishnavi Prajapati as Soni, the youngest daughter of Ganga Mai, a bright, spirited all-rounder who excels in academics, sports, and even keeps the family’s accounts in check. Her infectious energy and playful spirit bring a spark of joy to the family. Together, the characters of Sahana and Soni add fresh layers of emotional depth and dynamism to the story.
Srishti Jain said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be back on the channel. It feels like a homecoming! Playing Sahana in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan has been a beautiful experience so far. She’s such a gentle, selfless soul with immense inner strength, and I was instantly drawn to her emotional depth. What I love most is her quiet resilience; she holds her family together, manages their mess business, and gradually evolves into a more confident, independent woman. I’ve never portrayed a character like this in my acting career until now; Sahana is one of the simplest and grounded characters my viewers will get to watch. I believe it’s always fulfilling to portray characters who inspire, and Sahana’s journey will definitely touch hearts. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to play such a positive lead in a show that celebrates strong, grounded women.”
Vaishnavi Prajapati said, “I feel so lucky and excited to be part of a show as special as Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan! Playing Soni has been so much fun; she’s full of life and the youngest daughter of Ganga Mai, curious, and always ready to help her family. I love that she excels in both academics and sports, and even handles the accounts of the mess while being smart and playful at the same time! Working alongside such experienced and talented actors has been a big learning experience for me, and I’m so grateful to be part of this amazing team. I hope viewers enjoy watching Suma’s journey as much as I enjoy playing her!”
Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan is all set to premiere soon. As the story premieres, it will be interesting to see how Ganga Mai holds her family together with unwavering love and determination, rising above society’s judgment to create a life of meaning.
