Sudhanshu Pandey to Gaurav Khanna: When Anupamaa stars reacted to their exit

The daily soaps often undergo major cast changes, and one of the popular shows 'Anupamaa 'is no exception. Over the years, several key actors have exited the show, leading to emotional farewells and reactions from the stars themselves. From Sudhanshu Pandey, who played Vanraj Shah, to Gaurav Khanna, the beloved Anuj Kapadia, here’s a look at how Anupamaa stars reacted to their departure from the show.

Sudhanshu Pandey

The actor known for playing Vanraj Shah in Anupamaa, surprised fans when he announced his exit from the show in 2024. Many hoped he would return, but the actor has now put the rumours to rest. In an earlier Instagram Live session, Sudhanshu confirmed that he has moved on and has no plans to return to Anupamaa. His statement has left fans emotional, as Vanraj was an important character in the show. “I have given four fantastic years to Anupamaa, and I will cherish this journey forever. But returning to the show is not on the cards,” he shared.

Gaurav Khanna

The actor, who played Anuj Kapadia, had revealed why he left the show. He shared that producer Rajan Shahi initially asked him to wait for a month after a time leap in the story. However, as months passed, Shahi informed him that Anuj didn't fit into the new storyline. The actor clarified that his exit isn't necessarily permanent. He hinted at a possible return, saying, "It’s a comma, not a full stop. If required and if I have time, I will come back." He also acknowledged the love fans have for Anuj and Anupamaa’s story and believes the makers are exploring a new direction.

Rushad Rana

Madalsa Sharma Chakraborty

Madalsa Sharma, who played Kavya in Anupamaa, shared in an interview with IndiaToday.in that her character had been an important part of the show but gradually lost its impact. She had discussions with the makers about giving Kavya more depth, especially after the six-month leap where her character was shown as a successful model in the US. However, since no concrete plans were made, they mutually decided it was best for her to move on.
