Sunil Pal reacts to viral clip of being denied the mic on stage; says, “Bahut galat hua mere saath, I felt insulted”
Sunil Pal, who was recently in the news after a video of him being snubbed at an event went viral. He was invited as a guest and was even honoured with an award. However, when he tried to deliver his vote of thanks, he was not given the chance to speak. The awkward moment went viral on social media where the comedian was insulted on stage.
A video of the incident has gone viral, showing Sunil Pal on stage at what he described as an Urdu-Arab shayari event. Speaking about the evening, he shared that he had attended at the invitation of a close friend and was truly enjoying the atmosphere.
Sunil has now reacted to the uncomfortable incident. While talking to News18, he shared, ""Ye ek shayari ka program tha jisme main gaya tha. Many good shayars had come to this Urdu-Arab event. One of my closest friends had invited me to this event so I went and was having a good time. Then they invited me to the stage and handed me a bouquet. Since it was a very good event with amazing shayars. I wanted to say something. All I wanted to say was 'thank you' and appreciate the poets there. Unhe samman krna tha mujhe kyunki woh deserve karte hai."
Sunil stated that the person, who was present on the stage denied to give the mic to him. The comedian did not know the man and Sunil kept requesting the man for the mic many times, but he didn't want him to speak at all. Sunil felt confused and embarrassed at the time of the incident.
In the video, Sunil is seen requesting for the mic, he says, "At least let me say thank you." The organizer continued asking him to leave the stage. Sunil shared that the moment became more uncomfortable because of the audience's reaction. "Everyone there was watching and recording the video of me on stage because they thought I was being honoured but look what happened. I felt insulted."
Sunil Pal later called the friend who had invited him to understand what went wrong at the event and why he was denied the mic. When he asked about it, his friend told him to forget the matter and move on. Even his friend didn’t know why he wasn’t allowed to say a simple thank you on stage.
He further stated, "I didn't stay there anymore and simply walked away. Bhot hi galat hua mere sath."
On the work front, Sunil Pal shot to popularity after winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005. Since then he has been a part of various films and shows.
