Before his rise to fame, Mr Faisu grew up helping his father run a small nightie business. He started working at the age of 21. Recalling his struggles, he once said, “I grew up helping dad run a small nightie business. The work was demanding & the pay was too little. So at 21, I got a job as a salesman on Linking Road. For Rs 50 a day, I spent 9 hours in the heat & threw myself at passersby to buy clothes.”

As Mr Faisu began gaining recognition for his videos on social media, his popularity did not sit well with his family. Although students as well as customers at his workplace began recognising him as the “guy who made TikTok videos,” his parents still did not approve of his career choices. Speaking about this, Mr Faisu said, “Before I knew it, students began recognising me & customers at work knew me as the ‘guy who made TikTok videos’! But my parents wanted me to get an MBA, not be an unpaid ‘hero’ & my relatives thought ‘ladka barbaad ho gaya’.”

Speaking about this phase in his life, he shared, “But I didn’t have time to wallow—I found a new job & added another hustle—creating fun videos online. I began making 14 videos every day for a year—on my way to work, during lunch breaks or even when I was sick. My friends & I would dance & lip-sync to songs.”
