The Great Indian Kapil Show: Teja Sajja says Kapil Sharma inspired him, recalls Rana Daggubati’s roasting show that landed them in controversy
The Great Indian Kapil Show continues to entertain audiences with its trademark humour, comedy skits, and star-studded celebrity guests. The latest episode welcomed the cast of the upcoming South Indian film Mirai, with Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, Teja Sajja, and Ritika Nayak joining the stage.
The episode was filled with unexpected confessions, like Teja Sajja calling Jagapathi Babu a romantic at heart, Kapil Sharma and Teja Sajja’s hilarious banter, Shriya Saran revealing how her husband was scared of her after watching Drishyam, and much more. Kapil’s trademark flirting also made its way into the episode, where he kept teasing Shriya Saran. However, the highlight of the episode came when Teja Sajja shared how he got inspired by Kapil and started his own show.
In the episode, Kapil praised Teja for the success of his latest film Hanu-Man, which broke several records. He added that fans now call him “Superhero Teja Sajja.” Kapil also joked about Teja’s early start in films, saying, “Teja aise pan-India star hai jinka PAN card 2 and a half years ki umar mein ban gaya tha.” He then explained that Teja had made his acting debut at the age of two and a half alongside superstar Chiranjeevi.
Kapil asked Teja whether he had ever received a paycheck as a child actor, to which Teja admitted he hadn’t, but added that he still works with the same producers today. When asked about childhood memories, Teja said, “I have a lot of memories growing up. I even remember watching your show as a kid.” Kapil proudly responded, “On a very humble note, superstar Teja is also my fan.” Teja quickly added, “Not just me sir, everybody in South India is your fan. All actors are your fans.”
Teja also shared a funny story about how he and Rana Daggubati were inspired by Kapil’s hosting style. “We loved your hosting and started our own show where we roasted everyone, just like you do. But you walked away with it, and we were trapped in controversy.” This left both Kapil and the audience in splits.
The episode also featured the other cast members bringing their own comic flair. Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda appeared as Mona and Sona, while Sunil Grover stepped into the shoes of Pushpa as his own version of “Kushpa” — a nod to Allu Arjun’s iconic role, which definitely caught everyone’s attention. Later, the comedy trio returned as Motapa, Large Mata, and Rajagoli, leaving the guests laughing non-stop.
The fun continued with a whisper challenge where the Mirai actors hilariously struggled to guess each other’s words due to loud music, leading to several funny moments.
This season of The Great Indian Kapil Show has already seen big names like Salman Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Ali Fazal, Sara Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, Rishabh Pant, Vijay Varma, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, and Jaideep Ahlawat. The makers have now confirmed that the season will conclude with its final episode featuring superstar Akshay Kumar.
