The Many Shades of Sibling Bonds This Siblings Day; Hemant Thatte on portraying an elder brother
Siblings have a timeless bond that includes the mixture of love, competition, protection, and a mutual understanding among other things. On this Sibling's Day, the cast of Lakshmi Niwas brings into focus some of the best sibling pairs featured in its shows who still make a strong impact on viewers all over India. Siblings are our lifelong friends who have always been there for us.
The characters in Lakshmi Niwas symbolize the true meaning of unity in a conventional family system. Despite disagreements and diverse viewpoints, the family remains united due to the strong values and loyalty shared by the members.
Hemant Thatte portrays the elder brother Vivek in Lakshmi Niwas said, “What makes the sibling dynamic in Lakshmi Niwas special is its authenticity. We fight, we disagree, but at the end of the day, there’s immense love and responsibility towards each other. That’s what makes it real. Being a part of a joint family where the siblings are the pillars of the house makes me realize the importance of having them, through thick and thin. It feels surreal to have on-screen siblings because by the end of the day they subconsciously become a part of my family”.
In addition to being part of the show, these portrayals frequently also turn into actual relationships outside of the screen. Having spent many hours together filming, actors build a level of comfort and friendship that is reminiscent of the way a brother or sister relationship works, and their on-screen bond as siblings becomes real. Namely, the bond includes many shared jokes, funny moments, and an unbreakable friendship.
